The Diggle Blues Festival takes place annually in June and takes over the village of Diggle in Saddleworth for four days. Blues musicians and fans travel from all over Britain to take part in the festival.

As a photographer and joint organiser, it’s a great opportunity for me to indulge my passion for live performance photography. I love the challenge of working with low light, packed venues and unpredictable performances.  It tests my ability to think on my feet and pushes my skills with a camera. I really enjoy it and the music’s great too.

The main venues for the festival are: The Hanging Gate; The Diggle Band Club; Kilngreen Hall and the Diggle Hotel.

Performers over the years have included: Victor Brox, Paddy O’Hare, Mike Sweeney, Bluzebox, Mike Parker, Big Joe Bone, Babajack and Arthur Cale. The event is organised by Dave Wood and motley associates.
